Getting lost can be extraordinary. I believe it’s just an alternate way to discover the undiscovered. In the European Alps on July 30th, which was also my sister’s birthday, our group got lost. On what was supposed to be a comfortable hike to a small castle turned into a long 30 plus mile trek. After our break at a cottage eatery where we shared Pommes Frites (french fries) and Limos, (Half sprite half lemonade) we continued on the wrong path. Once we realized the mistake, our party decided to continue aimlessly on this uncharted route, hoping to eventually find the town of Tires and get back to our hotel. The winding paths of dirt and gravel led us to the most remarkable sights and its every turn greeted us with a new array of views. Bold mountain tops of the Dolomites encompassed the valley’s verdure while handsome chalets and cottages were tucked away in the rolling hillside. Weary fences line the sun beat paths and wildflowers sprout from country grass. Oh, the experience of being lost and the things that you find! From mystery to discovery, its uncertainty keeps you wandering!
